What Frankenstein does
Frankenstein is a mobile AI development environment from Stitch Lab. You build software on your phone with an assistant that can work a full task through — not just chat about code.
This page is a product overview for people considering the waitlist. It describes outcomes, not internal design.
Stay in the loop until the job is done
Give a goal and the assistant keeps working — editing project files, running tools, checking results — until the work is finished, you stop it, or a turn limit is hit. You should not need to type “continue” every few steps.
Projects on your device
Work lives in project folders on the phone. Browse and edit files, search the tree, and keep sessions attached to a workspace so context stays with the project.
Build and try Android apps
Aimed at real mobile work: produce installable Android packages from a project on the device, walk through install with the system installer, and open the app to try it. You still confirm installs and permissions like any normal Android app.
Runtimes and tooling on the phone
Common developer tooling is available in the mobile environment so you can run scripts, manage packages, and handle everyday build and project tasks without switching to a PC for every step.
Terminals and long-running work
Open shell sessions that stay up across chat turns — useful for servers, watchers, interactive tools, and longer builds. Preview web work in the browser when you need to.
Git and service logins
Snapshot and manage project history on device. Connect accounts you already use (for example GitHub) through guided sign-in so push and authenticated workflows are possible without pasting secrets into chat.
Models you choose
Connect the AI providers and models you prefer. Switch when a task needs a different fit. Optional multi-role workflows can split plan / implement / review style work across roles for heavier jobs, while simple asks stay lightweight.
Driver edition: hands-on device help
Frankenstein Driver adds optional automation so the assistant can help operate the phone for testing and guided flows — for example checking the app you just built, walking permission screens, or repeating a short QA path you care about.
Automation is meant for your projects and flows, under your control. It is not a license to abuse other people’s apps or the platform.
Memory across sessions
Durable notes for device facts, project context, and preferences so you are not re-explaining the same setup every chat.
Safety and limits (plain language)
- No help with crime, malware, or attacking systems.
- No sexual content involving minors.
- It runs on Android; it is not a desktop IDE replacement for every workflow.
- System install and permission dialogs still require your taps.
- It does not claim root or security bypasses.
